Meet the Project Team

Deep project management expertise and a genuine passion for getting things done properly. Between us, we bring over 25 years of hands-on experience delivering complex projects for some of the world’s most demanding organisations — and we now put that same rigour to work for SMEs across the UK.

Matthew Smith — Co-Founder & Project Manager

I’m a project manager with 20 years of experience spanning industries from technical print to global financial services. But if you ask what I actually do, the honest answer is: I fix communication.

Projects don’t usually fail because of a lack of talent or resources. They fail because the right people aren’t talking to the right people, at the right time, with the right information. That’s the gap I close.

Over the course of my career, I’ve delivered complex programmes for organisations such as HSBC — including turning around a failing global programme and cutting a bloated two-hour status meeting down to a focused ten-minute update that actually moved things forward. I’ve managed procurement crises, reporting failures, and stakeholder relationships at every level, from the intern to the boardroom.

What I bring to every project is straight talking, total transparency, and a willingness to roll up my sleeves when it matters. I don’t believe in dressing problems up. I believe in solving them.

Outside of work, I’m a parent, a martial artist, and a lifelong appreciator of Aston Martins — a passion inherited from my dad. I practice Tai Chi and Hap Gar Kung Fu, and I share my home with two cats and a dwarf hamster who have very different views on project governance.

Natasha Stankevitch — Co-Founder & Project Manager

I co-founded SSC because project management isn’t just my profession — it’s the way I think. I’m a Six Sigma Black Belt practitioner, which means I bring a structured, data-driven approach to every project I take on, whether that’s a construction programme, a hospitality rollout, or a complex compliance initiative.

Where some consultants manage from a distance, I get into the details. Budgets, stakeholder conversations, operational dependencies, risk registers — I enjoy the “nitty gritty” because that’s where projects are actually won or lost. I work across industries, providing clear leadership and steady control from initiation through to completion.

My background in Six Sigma means I don’t just deliver projects — I deliver measurable, repeatable outcomes. Every engagement I take on is underpinned by rigorous governance, clear communication, and genuine accountability. Not just ticking boxes, but building something that works.

Outside of work, I’ve been riding motorbikes for nine years — a discipline that demands the same focus and situational awareness that good project management does. I’m also a proud dog owner, a Lego enthusiast, and someone who genuinely enjoys strategy games. Systems, structure, and seeing things through: that’s me in and out of the office.
